Elf Spaghetti Funnel Cake
Inspired by this scene in “Elf”!
Difficulty: Easy | Time: 30min | Yields: 1 small funnel cake
So what exactly did Buddy put on his spaghetti?… Well, let me tell you. After extensive research, he put maple syrup (duh, one of the four main food groups), chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, m&ms, mini marshmallows and s’mores pop tarts… And I think it needed a little whipped cream so I took some liberties there. Doesn’t make for the best looking dessert, but hey, if Buddy can get away with it… So can we! This is a super easy and fun dessert you can whip up with your family or friends for a fun Christmas activity. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
For the funnel cake:
-
Pancake mix
-
Oil, for frying
For the toppings:
-
S’mores Pop-tarts
-
M&Ms
-
Mini Marshmallows
-
Maple Syrup
-
Chocolate Syrup
-
Strawberry Syrup
-
Whipped cream
Directions:
Make the funnel cake:
-
Prepare 1 cup of the pancake mix according to the box instructions.
-
Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a small round tip, or simply use a Ziploc bag and cut a small hole at the corner.
-
Pour about 1” of oil into a frying pan and place it over medium heat until its about 350-375 degrees F. You’ll know the oil is ready if you flick some water in it and it sizzles.
-
Pipe the pancake batter into the oil in a circular motion and let it fry until it’s golden brown on each side.
-
Remove from the oil onto a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
Assemble:
-
Transfer the funnel cake onto a clean plate.
-
Break up the pop-tarts and place them around the edge of the funnel cake.
-
Drizzle the remaining toppings to your liking.
-
Enjoy!
